How do I clean my catheters?
Manufacturers do not recommend that users clean catheters in order to reuse them.
The FDA has classified intermittent catheters as single-use devices. In other words, you should practice sterile use catheterization by using one catheter once and then disposing of it. You will see this notated on your catheter package with a symbol of the number 2 and a line through it.
Sterile use catheterization may help reduce the risk of urinary tract infections.
